Paid Caregiver Family Leave (CFL*) Insurance is a voluntary or employer-paid workplace benefit that provides financial and social protection insurance for employees serving as caregivers to a family member. The insurance benefit provides up to 80% income replacement or the benefit maximum for an employee with caregiving need requiring an extended or intermittent leave from work.
  • CFL is compatible with most employers’ unpaid Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requests.
  • It provides paid coverage for employees who take FMLA-qualifying leave to care for an immediate family member with a serious health condition for up to 10 weeks.
  • Premiums are affordable, starting as low as $2.04. 
  • CFL is group insurance. Companies with 50 or more W-2 employees are eligible to enroll in this insurance program.
